Pilot Challenges Palm Beach Airport Renaming In Florida Lawsuit

Originally published at: Pilot Challenges Palm Beach Airport Renaming In Florida Lawsuit

The lawsuit argues the move could create confusion and unnecessary costs.

As a second home owner located in Florida, I find it disgusting that the governor and all of his boot licking acolytes are playing to one man’s egotistical madness. I wish Mr. Poncey success with his lawsuit.

I have no problem with the name change as long as the identifier KPBI stays the same. Many airports have rebranded in the past such as adding “international” to their name or recognizing a significant political or cultural individual. I thought they were changing the identifier to KDJT, which I am opposed to. But apparently I was mistaken on that according to the article. Is the person or lawyer filing suit really concerned about cost or is he just opposed to President Trump?

Changing an airport name has been done numerous times in the United States - two airports in the Atlanta metro area have been changed during the last eight years…without any issues involving safety. The bottomline is that this attorney has an immature grievance with President Trump and is wasting municipal court costs to hear this frivilous case…

  1. The practical aspects are irrelevant in this name change.
  2. We need to discourage Trump from every overreach, he is only working for his own best interests.
  3. I hope Mr. Poncey wins. He should set up a Go Fund Me page to cover his costs, the citizens who back democracy and the constitution will donate, as will I.

Renaming public institutions in America is supposed to be an honor, not obeisance to the whims of a wannabe dictator as in commie countries. Only deSantis and Florida’s sub-moronic MAGA legislators could choose to bully locals and honor a felonious megalomaniacal serial liar and adulterer who shat on democracy, cheered assaults on cops during sacking of The Nation’s Capitol (later pardoning the worst perps to reoffend), and halted critical medical research while staffing government with clowns and adoring “yes” men. Will pussy grabbing now be legal in jetways and concourses there?

John Newberry: LOL! This isn’t the forum to debate politics but in response to your rant I will say that I’ll take Trump’s policies (even with his personality flaws) any day over what your side offers. FYI, the language/tone of your rant pretty much kills any credibility you hoped to have. Have a great day - if that’s possible with Trump living in your head 24/7!

SteveR: Just going to repost my reply to John Newberry…

And another MAGAt heard from. Nice try. This is at its core NOT a political debate. It is a question of human decency and ethics: whether to honor and memorialize the name of a flattery-obsessed con man and sexual predator.

As I have said before on another thread; this is no worse than renaming Little Rock AK (LIT) airport after the Clintons, or renaming McCarren airport (LAS) Harry Reid, or national (DCA) after Reagan.

So you’re going to say that all of his concerns aren’t anywhere near if frivolous is Trump wanting your port renamed?

And here you are saying what you’re saying. If you don’t want to debate politics here, then don’t.

Chuck Kubin: Sometimes it’s important - when someone else takes the first shot (esp in such a manner) - to let them know not everyone agrees with them. Constructive debate is healthy - but the initial poster wasn’t interested in that.

SteveR: Please keep the humourous posts coming!

Still waiting for ANY factual contradiction from you and still(unlike you) not finding anything amusing or honor worthy in adultery, grift, serial lying or sexual predation, especially CSEC.

It seems to me that people spend a good chunk of time casting stones, yet do not cast enough votes to get their poorly vetted, ANNOINTED nominee elected to office. Thankfully KH is not president now. We will all be paying for her mistakes as VP for a long time to come. Furthermore, this fantastic country is not a democracy, but a democratic republic. Who here paid attention in grade 6 American history? How many reviewed the constitution in their lifetime, or the bill of rights? Sure, DJT has an ego the size of Greenland, and he’s been a playboy, but I don’t believe he’s the worst thing about D.C. The people who have personality or ethics complaints might consider all the congressional members getting FREE health care, voting themselves pay increases, insider trading, getting freebies for their children, all at our expense. Those who think remarking charts, uniforms and street signs is a big line item, well, stand back at look at the forest of crap senators and house members who hose up the system with their corruption. Cheers. Oh, and i hope all of the TDS peeps went into a flat spin when i said Greenland. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

SMB: Couldn’t agree more! There are certainly a LOT of crappy and unethical politicians in Congress and I have no problem admitting they’re on both sides of the aisle.

SteveR: This is not the forum to get into political discussion. But if the others here will forgive me, I’ll say this before I stop responding to you:

  1. I primarily vote for a candidate’s policies. If personal behavior was a primary deciding factor Clinton, LBJ, JFK and others (on both sides) would not have been elected.

  2. Do you really think that if Trump were part of the Epstein scandal - that the Biden Administration (who had all the details for several years) wouldn’t have leaked it to destroy him? If they had that dirt, they wouldn’t have had to weaponize the state and Federal judiciary system against Trump

  3. How were Dem policies such as the following honorable?

Allowing men to pretend they are woman and compete against women?

Opening the border and allowing millions of unvetted illegals to enter America and divert money and resources away from Americans?

Refusing to cooperate with attempts to find, arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens via so-called sanctuary policies?

Covering for Biden’s declining mental capacity until it was too obvious to continue - and then appointing a clearly incompetent Kamala Harris as the Democrat candidate without any sort of alternate primary?

Claiming for years that Iran can never have nuclear weapons - but signing a treaty under Obama that did not include real verification and now complaining about Trump taking steps to prevent or at least greatly delay a nuclear Iran - complaining that gas will be too expensive in the short term?

Weaponizing government institutions to destroy via malicious prosecutions - or by simply labeling as a racist, nazi, homophobe, etc. anyone that disagrees with Democrat policies?

Even worse - promoting hatred and violence to stop those your side disagrees with (e.g. several attempts on Trump, Charlie Kirk, police ambushes and the attempted killing of SC Justice Kavanaugh.

Attempting to demonize and defund law enforcement?

I could go on but I think it’s pretty clear that from a policy perspective, I have plenty of reasons why I prefer Trump over what the Progressive Dems (who have hijacked the party) have to offer!

Now let’s go back to talking aviation. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and (seriously) stop dwelling on your hatred of Trump. You are absolutely powerless to do anything about it - which I’m very grateful for!

From reading the long string of comments it’s apparrent that TDS has infected the flying community.
Thought pilots were more mature than that.
