Textron Announces Upgrade For CJ4 Light Jet Line

Textron Aviation unveiled today its latest newest variant, the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen 3. The announcement comes on the 15th anniversary of the service entry of the first of the CJ4 line. More than 450 CJ4s are currently in operation, according to Textron. The Gen 3 version is expected to enter service next year.

Instead of keeping up with the Jones by making tweaks to their jets, maybe Textron should focus on manufacturing efficiencies at Lycoming. It is a 36 month, yes, a 3 year wait for a factory rebuilt motor. Textron executives should be ashamed for turning their backs on the GA community. New engine entrants and Continental (under very hungry Chinese leadership) are eating your lunch. Wake up!

The Chinese are just behaving like capitalists and going where the money seems to be. We need to find new aircraft with new engines and show them how real capitalism is done.We have some great engines and aircraft in the bullpen,we just need to put them in the game.
