The agency is advising first responders to contact the NTSB before attempting to disable undeployed systems.
The fire brigade set off a BRS on an ultralight at our airport that had a hard landing. The pilot was fine, the site was secured. Then they discharged to BRS to make it “safe” and ignited the spilled gasoline. The plane became a total loss due to their actions.
