Nashville Airports Damaged By Deadly Storms - AVweb

Nashville’s John C. Tune Airport (JWN) sustained significant damage from a tornado associated with severe storms that killed at least 22 people and injured approximately 150 more in central Tennessee early Tuesday morning. While the extent of the damage is not yet known, airport personnel have said that JWN’s hangars, terminal, fuel trucks, power lines and a number of aircraft were all affected. No injuries were reported at the airport. A NOTAM is in effect closing JWN until March 10.

“We can replace hangars and airplanes. Thankful no one was injured.” That is all that needed to be said. As long as no one was hurt, all will be well.

What a shame!!

That is nasty!

In May of 1995 a tornado touched down at my home base in Southbridge Mass.destroying a few hangars and six airplanes one of which I learned to fly in.

That is one huge pile of sadness.
