This is truly devastating news. Having watched my mom suffer from dementia, I know firsthand how cruel these diseases can be for both the individual and their loved ones. Captain Sully showed extraordinary skill and leadership on Flight 1549, and he’s showing the same courage now by speaking openly about his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. My thoughts are with him and his family. Thank you, Captain, for a lifetime of service and for continuing to inspire others.
