Clean-Fuel Tax Credits On A Fast Track

Reuters reported Sunday (November 17) that the Biden Administration plans to try to finalize rules on clean-fuel tax credits before President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated on July 20. A White House official said the intent is to provide credits for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other lower-emission transportation fuels starting in 2025. “I’m not going to make any announcements,” the official said, “except that we’re working very hard to finish the rules.” The announcement included the caveat that there is no guarantee work will be completed on establishing the rules for clean-fuel tax credits.

I don’t see a connection between the two paragraphs in this article. How does a potential government led credit program, this time for SAF, relate to Biden’s decision to delay permit approval for building LNG export terminals that provide non-Russian energy to our allies in Europe and the world at large?

Not article related, but picture related… why does the winglet look backwards on the Airbus in the picture? It is really messing with my mind.

I can understand the urgency, considering the administration has not prioritized this over the last 4 years. However, I do not believe that changing the tax code can be done simply by the executive branch “issuing rules”.

Never mind. On re-reading this it is obviously impossible to complete so it was released for non-honest reasons.

Could be an AI generated photo. I thought the plane looked like a Boeing 737MAX until it got mixed up with Airbus winglets.

Ahhh… you’re right, maybe it is a 737MAX.

So, they want to focus on this stuff, but he’s had the unanimously voted on bill to eliminate daylight savings time on his desk for how long???

I don’t care about SAF but I’d love to make DST permanent. I hate darkness at 4:30.

Actually, the bill would eliminate standard time and stay on DST permanently. It’s a stupid idea. Get rid of DST, and keep our days more closely tracking actual time. If you don’t like when the sunrises and sets, change the times you work and get up or go to sleep at a different time. Don’t drag the rest of the country along with a plan that most sleep and health experts agree is ill-founded.

So, might the ‘…other low-emissions transportation fuels.’ include an unleaded 100 octane avgas .? It sure would reduce the pain of $7-$8 a gallon.!

Emissions are the same, only lead is different so I doubt it. It does not fit the agenda.
