The subtlety is very uncharacteristic. Surprised it wasn’t designated the F-Trump. Oh wait, I see why.
F-“47”. There’s pandering to win a bid, then there’s anal-osculation. And when you’re rich, they let you get away with it. What a sad, sad, state of affairs.
I’m with Mike H on this one. $20 billion just to develop the first F-47, then $300 million apiece, and that doesn’t account for the inevitable huge cost overruns that always occur with these systems. By the time it’s operational, it will already be outdated. More to the point, why in hell do we even need this “last manned fighter”? To destroy the Houthis or their successors? To attack China if it attacks Taiwan (with drones)? To annex Greenland or invade Canada? IMO, it’s another of the “newest-shiniest-cool- let’s scratch each other’s back” mentality of the military industrial complex. Fortunately, it will be paid for by cutting Medicaid, early learning programs, and consumer protection:>(
Who are we going to take on-Canada?
We will likely have our first non-native born President ( watch for the coming Constitutional Amendment) before this thing flies.
Sorry Taiwan, you’re on your own. Ukraine shoulda told ya.
These fighters will be too expensive to actually risk them by performing combat missions.
The U.S. defense budget dwarfs that of other countries, exceeding the combined spending of the next nine largest military spenders, and accounting for nearly 40% of global military spending. So, we can fight a war simultaneously against nine countries and win. Sounds like a noble use of funds stolen from veterans and Medicaid recipients.
Sure are a lot of knee-jerk reactions today.
I can’t wait for the F-47MAX.
Osculation, what a great word and so appropriate. Thanks for todays smile!
Perhaps muster up a little derring-do and rise-up-and-stand-out by breaking the trend with an actual comment on the news subject, or even piggy-back an idea off a fellow commenter?
A little anal-osculation among friends could be a good thing.
Small nit. The coating on the aircraft is Radio Frequency absorbing. Radar works by measuring the reflected signal from the target. That combined with a low reflectance design, is what makes aircraft stealthy. Easy to talk about very hard to accomplish.
Knees, feet, fists… Those all seem appropriate to the matter at hand, IMO. Careful, though, not to get your face too close, particularly those of you prone to osculation. It could lead to one of the above approaching a lip or tooth at an excessive approach speed…
Well, it isn’t likely that we will be selling many of them to our “allies”, like we did with the F35. That is assuming that the plane ever actually gets built. I also find it interesting that the attached drawing shows the plane over a carrier and sporting Navy logos. I thought it was the Air Force that wants the thing.
The F-47 should be great at shooting down 401k’s, bombing economies, and strafing ex-mil VA employees.
