When the pilot of a legacy Cessna 172C had a fuel system issue over Ohio farm country last week, Joe Bauman's field became a lifesaver. The Reynoldsville farmer became a plane saver when he smoothed a section of the field to allow the pilot to take off in the repaired airplane the next day.
I was about to make the same comment. Congrats to AvWeb for “smoothing” and not “plowing”. Plowed fields are not airplane friendly. Looks like he may have a cultimulcher on the rear of that thing too.
