Why do I get the feeling that we airplane owners are about to get another shiny (and expensive) piece of equipment rammed down our throats that will solve all the airspace system’s problems? Maybe satellite-based ADSB? (Probably the only time this administration likes the word Diversity)
Mr. Duffy has been in his position for less than Mr. Trump’s 100 days, so I’m pretty sure his big announcement tomorrow will be the “concept of a plan” that’s a little short on details.
My apologies to the controllers. After I just read what caused this mess and apparently no one had listened to complaints of previous failures, it was time to make a statement that would be heard this time. One controller said there was no redundancy in remoting the JFK radios and radar over. Said they considered it to be like a long extension cord. FAA says a good fix is on the way now. Sorry guys and gals.
