You let city growth build up around these airports and the put the aircraft in danger by requiring reduced power takeoffs. general aviation always suffers when the cities encroach into airport surroundings. Then the cries come to close down the airports which were there first. I blame politicians for this problem, most who are not pilots and side with the cities.
It’s amazing how these politicians loudly complain about how behind and outdated our ATC system is. Then when updates or more efficient changes are planned or implemented, all of a sudden the noise complaints start. No matter who is in office, you just can’t win.
