Veteran AOPA publications editor Michael P. Collins died Thursday night from complications of COVID-19, the association said on Friday. Collins had been hospitalized in Maryland for about two weeks after contracting the disease earlier this month. He was 59.
This is terribly sad. I think that all of us in the aviation community were enriched by his photography and writing - and we’re diminished by his death.
I am very sorry to hear this – as a pilot, I certainly have benefited from both Mike’s writing and images. As if we need more reminders of the tragedy that Covid-19 has wrought. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and to his to his colleagues at AOPA.
