Shine the laser in this nutbar’s eyes for an hour or two.

She bought this device for one reason - do harm someone or an animal (which is equally sick). She then repeatedly shone it at the helo - only to harm the crew. The degree of malice exhibited is shocking, more so the failure to jail her.

The story states she INTENTIONALLY injured their eyes "though no long-term harm was reported." She endangered a flying mission, but she got probation.
Probation. Very fitting sentence. Exactly what would she have to do to get a fitting punishment?

I’m guessing the lax punishment is due to social pressure. We live in a sad era when people encourage each other to defy the government in all sorts of ways.

Wow, in what kind of world is this a misdemeanor? Surely there were a number of federal felonies she could have been charged with, allowing her to do some serious hard time in prison. Attempted murder of federal employees on a military mission?

In San Jose California if someone pointed a lazer at an airplane, helicopter, police helicopter they would get a minimum of 16 years in prison.
why is Alaska so lenient on the riffraff, the Dopers get out, the DUI’S, GET OUT, The Driver’s with Not licenses, still drive, and the thief’s get no time. They just let the PFD be taken to cover their crimes.
Unaccepted should be the same punishment everywhere in the 50 states maximum, no plea deals, big fines, and a education course, bring these entitled, never left Mommy, cuz Mommy gave them anything to stop them from crying, a real taste of life. Do Bad Get Bad results by law.
