Nice job, Rod!
Nice job, Rod!
This is a perfect example of how important aviation and the wide network of airports is to America in time of need. Unfortunately, with all the teeth-gnashing that went on with the election building up to Inaugration Day, stories like this got buried and the news media totally overlooked it. While the “big guys” (Fedex, UPS) got coverage as they loaded up their jets for the primary distribution, no mention was made about how the critical vaccines got moved out to their final destinations in remote parts of the country. Great story, Rod. Keep up the good work.
The GA-8 is a piston airplane, not a turbine. The CAP also has a huge fleet of Cessnas (possibly including a Caravan or two, but I’d have to check). The overall CAP fleet is quite varied, with aircraft from all around the world. Most of the CAP fleet is American-built (like aviation in general) but it isn’t a strictly buy-American organization. It is an auxiliary of the Air Force, and they have some foreign machinery too.
