Began Flying as a crewman in the US Navy, in a Sikorsky SH-3A with “dipping sonar”. Did a cruise on the USS Ticonderoga and two on the HMCS Provider all as part of RIMPAC exercises during my time. Got actual stick time in the Helo, in the pattern at NAS Alameda, and in a football field one Thanksgiving weekend at Mare Island!
