I commented sufficiently on your accompanying video but HERE I wanted to add a comment to your Aera 660 / GDL 52 comment.
I bought a 660 and am smitten by the thing … especially for the $$ … 0.75 AMU. I’ve recommended it to others and have sold three more for them. The ONLY complaint I have against it is that its Bluetooth function does not transmit audio output for altitude, terrain or traffic warnings to a Bluetooth headset. THOSE have to be hard wired if ya want 'em or come from an iPad. But for the bucks … a very capable box. SO much so that I’m considering adding a second … one hard wired / hard mounted and a second portable on the yoke sans iPad. Along with these devices – either flavor – even the pilot of an antique anything could be quasi up to date.
I think I sniff a design opportunity / product idea for someone … to build an audio alert combiner such that ALL the audio alerts in an airplane … be it from a GPS, iPad or anything else could be combined into one for those with limited inputs and wanting to enable / disable each separately.
