U.S. Navy Loses Second Super Hornet from Carrier Deck

Officially the pendent. Common reference, the wire or cable. It’s kind of a slang turn on the boat. “The Boat” is another one. Almost a term of endearment.
Back to the pendent, it is the replaceable part of the arresting wire/cable that crosses the deck in the landing area of the angle deck or Fly 3.
They are changed out every 100 traps
The pendent takes all the hits from the arresting process, hence it being replaceable. The rest of the cable is below deck and connected through a series of pulleys on the hydraulic rams of the arresting gear motors.

Britain: We have the best army and navy in the world.
Colonials: We will annoy you until you go away and our supply lines are not 3,000 miles long.

Basically, we attacked a sovereign nation without a declaration of war because we did not like Yemen blockading Israel and US shipping supporting the ongoing genocide in Gaza, West Bank, and the Golan Heights. All other ships from other countries were not blockaded. However, because of the US Navy’s response with a couple of carrier task groups, global shipping’s insurance companies decided to send ships around Africa rather through a US led war zone.

The US Navy and Air Force were and are not prepared for the Yemen offensive and defensive weaponry they developed, manufactured, and employed. We have NO hypersonic missiles let alone those who are maneuverable. Their underground network protecting their military hardware was developed from the US financed Saudi war lasting decades. Even B2’s carrying “bunker busters” could not damage these underground facilities. So, we bombed Yemenis civilians continuously. Yes, we got our rear ends kicked losing 3 FA-18’s, 22 and counting MQ-9 drones at $35 million each, damage to two carriers by a knowledgeable and sophisticated people that we chose to make an enemy.
