Tyndall Air Force Base Evacuates Aircraft Ahead Of Storm

Tyndall Air Force Base has temporarily relocated its F-35 fleet in preparation for Hurricane Helene, which could turn into a Category 4 storm as it makes landfall on Thursday evening.

Wow… sounds like a good idea to me. I wonder what committee was put together to come up with that decision. I can’t believe this is even a story. It’s really not even worth a mention.

I guess they learned something from hurricane Andrew…

It’s standard procedure, no committee needed.

I was born in Homestead, FL in 1959. In 1960, Huricane Donna came through. My dad, a B47 pilot and his squadron evacuated the aircraft to Georgia (I think). Mom said they left her, my brother, sister, and I (all kids 4 years and younger), and all the other families to deal with the storm. She would say sarcastically, “at least the aircraft were safe.”
