Part Shipped, Waterbomber Expected Back In Service Monday

Uh, having the part in stock is news, sometimes even Boeing has not had one in stock - had to quickly make one if they couldn’t rob one off the production line.

BTW, I now realize that ‘Russ’ - presumably Niles, is sticking his nose in by editing posts instead of replying to them.

Can’t say I blame him; it’s apparently the only way to fake a nicely chained reply. People were complaining early on about the replies formatting.

Problem is, he is utterly breaking an admittedly poor - but still functional - system. He is leaving a ‘Dead End’ reply - one that no one can properly reply to.

Russ, please just stop it. As I recall, you once asked for suggestions for improvements to the system. I’d suggest checking out casemates.com for a site whose content should be dear to your heart and whose commenting system is dear to mine.

I know if it were structural, then by the time that they pull the skins, replace the spar/ribs, and re-skin the thing, it will be fixed sometime in March. If the picture in this article is correct, then it’s a skin repair and that can be done expeditiously with local supplies.

AJF:
I consider your post as speculation.

Even the work you list would not take into March.

Two CL-415s were already there on annual contract from Quebec.

Several other aircraft were rushed to the fires after they were really expanding.

I don’t know if Coulson’s helicopters were already on contract, the company is well known in California.

Russ is confusing people.

There have been variations in forum software showing that a post is reply - sometimes does not.

It’s Russ’s sandbox and Russ’s rule’s. Just leave him alone, or, he’ll throw sand in your face…

having the part in stock is news

True.

The owners let him play in their sandbox, so far.

Scripps News reported on Monday that the CL415 had been repaired, just needed FAA inspection to go back into service.

Meanwhile, persons have been arrested for flying drones near firefighting aircraft, others for arson, and more for looting. Vote for more police.

Closeup photos of the damage leading edge appear to show support structure at bottom of leading edge bent back, also show dent well beyond the but area.
And there’s a photo of pieces of the offending drone.
