AVweb’s weekly news roundup uncovered reports on a reminder for drone operators to be alert for agricultural aircraft, a new aviation service purchasing solution, an annual activity record for an air medical transport provider and new safety analysis software for an airline. The National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) is recommending unmanned aircraft system (UAS/drone) operators be mindful of right-of-way rules, equip drones with tracking technology and strobe lights, and contact local agricultural aviation operations before flight in order to help avoid encounters with low-altitude agricultural aircraft. The request was made as part of the FAA’s National Drone Safety Awareness Week.
