The people fired from the FAA are insignificant. half of 1% of 50,000 employees We need a 30% reduction in federal spending or we will not survive as a country. A significant portion of the non ATC FAA employees have not done a days work in so long they have forgotten how.
They will not reduce spending by 30 percent because they have no clue how to do that without causing major safety problems, not because it is impossible. They will not root out fraud, waste or abuse, because they don’t know how to do that. They are failing, and government will resume huge deficits and carry on as usual, without their help when they are gone, hopefully soon.
