All four people aboard a Cherokee Six that crashed into California parking lot on Sunday survived with minor to moderate injuries. The plane hit a few cars and a motorhome at the Pomona Fairplex, which was hosting the National Hot Rod Association drag race finals. The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. local time.

Yeah… and it’s snowing in Alaska…

Wow, glad they walked away. Drag racing and airplane nut here. Soon both the airport and the drag strip will be gone if psychofornians have their way. So it won’t happen again.

Uh . . . what airport will be gone? Ontario (ONT)?

[Slightly off topic aside: The Pomona track has - or had - a road racing course (with an underpass) laid out in their parking lot.]

There is a delightful airport in Pomona: KPOC. Two parallel runways, 3,661’ and 4,840’ long. Fuel, tiedowns, an airport restaurant, operated by the County of Los Angeles.

Thanks. I Googled for airports near Pomona; I guess KPOC can’t compete with the likes of ONT for search exposure.
