Bombardier has begun production of its new flagship Global 8000 and expects deliveries of the speedy large cabin bizjet to begin in 2025. At a news conference at NBAA-BACE on Monday, Executive VP Jean-Christophe Gallagher said the Global 8000 wh has set 60 speed records ratified by the National Aeronautics Association, which, in itself, is a record number of records.
That caught my attention as well. Of course, according to the article, the Global 8000 has more speed records than any other aircraft of its type.
It got me to read the article, even though I don’t have a lot of interest in the bizjet segment of the GA market. Which is the purpose of a headline.
… but harder to edit than to write, which was reflected in the payscales at those anachronisms we once revered as “newspapers”. Oddly enough, AI hasn’t completely eliminated the need for editors because so much of the job was “listening to the music of the prose”.
The headline. Its not wrong, but it does sound funny, Record setting record. I just thought it was humorous. Certainly no ill reflection on the hard working folks at AvWeb.
My father Thomas Boardman .designed the wing for the Challenger .At CDI in California. He designed the wing to be made larger by adding more sections. When told the people in Montreal. They laughed at him .saying nobody will want a larger bus jet. He told them it’s for the regional airline you will need. They laughed again. Well the regional jet and larger bus jet is core of Bombardier business.
