What you should have asked is can machines replace pilots for the middle of the night freight runs which are harmful for pilots, and disturb people on the ground. (Working nights increases your chances of dying from cancer by five times.)
And the answer is yes.
Of course the pilots’ unions are jumping up and down and swearing than only someone with the equivalent of a masters’ degree can fly the things – they still have not absorbed the implications for the members of the night work findings.
