Hats off to the folks there! !
Haven’t thought of it that way.
Someone here should build a FW-190 - humm
IDK, the whole history of the war makes them uncomfortable over there. I think they’d sooner do a spitfire next than any of the German planes. The RC aircraft market seems to be rough on the German planes as well. A friend of mine says it’s much harder to find good models of the German ones.
I saw it at Oshkosh and to my surprise was actually able to get into (and out of) the non-flying display and I am a rather stiff 79 year old. Now I want one. Am currently building a CH-750 with a Rotax 914 which is probably easier to get into but the Mustang is certain eye catching and the sound is amazingly like the real one.
I interpret it as just a market in action. Their product is a fun, warbird-nostalgia aircraft. There are probably more US buyers who are nostalgic for the P-51 than there are European buyers who are nostalgic for the FW-190. So, they build the product that the largest market segment wants the most.
