David P may be right? Maybe someone was having a heart attack on Mt. Wilson and the closest air asset was a jet pack equipped ambulance chaser? OR … maybe that entity who was inhabiting the bridge in Point Pleasant, WV decided to move west for better climate purposes? Then again, Edwards AFB isn’t far away and they have all manner of nifty toys to play with there. I think its most likely a GI Joe sized doll attached to a quadcopter. It looks real from a distance when you’re busy piloting an airliner. If this were true, then it would in a sense be even worse since it means the stupid thing is that much closer to a collision.

I was into model airplanes 20 years before I got my PPL. If these jet packs have engines like what were flown in the models, and they certainly look similar, then they are very LOUD. Nobody is going to casually fire up one of those jet packs in a parking lot and takeoff without a lot of people noticing it…
