The Musketeer accident reminded me of what a poky performer that airplane is. I flew a Sport 150 (basically a 3-seat Musketeer) out of a sea level airport one day and climbed to 5000 feet for my IFR flight plan, I was well under gross but a controller asked ‘Verify you’ll be able to make 5000 today??’ A good strong airframe but not so much for hot/high conditions. The 180 hp engine on the Sundowner I’m sure is a big improvement.
