Stu Dawson was the pilot as reported by numerous sources. He is in stable condition with minor burns. Airplane was landed gear up in the grass.
For those who just tuned in Stu is a long time Reno Air Race Pilot and one of the most experienced warbird pilots in the world. Retired air line pilot.

I am astonished and perplexed as to ‘WHY’ that a one-of-kind WWII era bomber was being flown solo.

Several P38’s being flown single pilot. Maybe because the P38 only has one seat??

Photos confirm that the A20 only has a single pilot seat. The forward fuselage area is very narrow. No place for a second seat with access to the controls.

Always get the -20 and -26 mixed up. One of 'em has more angled horizontal stabilizers?

Got to see one of them fly at a small town parade years ago. But I don’t know which (lol). Quite cool though.

Good question, maybe because it’s a single pilot airplane!
